Hello! I'm Gayathri, founder of Liveable.

I have spent fifteen years in the built environment, and nearly a decade of that inside the institutions that write the rules for how we measure what buildings do to people. I led the development of WELL v2 at IWBI, a standard now covering over 6 billion square feet across 140+ countries. I helped build the Declare Equity program with the Living Future Institute. This year I was named a Living Future Hero, which still makes me stop for a second when I say it out loud.

What that work gave me, more than anything else, was a front row seat to something that I could not stop thinking about. There is more human-centered ambition in this field than at any point in its history. More people who genuinely want the buildings they design, specify, and build to be good for the people inside them, around them, and throughout their supply chains. And yet, so much of that ambition does not survive the journey from intention to delivery. It gets removed in procurement. It gets substituted out. It gets buried in a report nobody reads.

That gap is not a values problem. The people in this field care. It is an infrastructure problem. And infrastructure can be built.

Liveable exists to build it. To give the human-centered ideas in this field the evidence, the language, and the proof layer they need to survive the decisions that matter. So that more of what we intend for people actually reaches them.

I grew up in Dubai, studied design in Stockholm, and have lived and worked across India, Middle East, Europe, New York, and California. These experiences gave me a particular sensitivity to how differently people experience the same spaces, and how rarely that difference gets counted. Counting it, and making it count, is what I am here to do.

If you are working on that same gap, from any angle, I would love to talk to you

The Team

Liveable is founder-led by design. Every engagement is led directly by Gayathri, which means the expertise you read about on this page is the expertise you work with.

Depending on the scope, we bring in a carefully selected network of specialists in measurement, policy, supply chain transparency, and communications. These are practitioners with deep field experience, not generalists. We build the team around the project, not the other way around.
